I had a lot of fun putting these images together for Imagemovers and Columbia pictures. I loved the miniature feel the director was going for; it really made the environments immersive and compelling. I also had the chance to work on the title sequence, which you can see on my site here.

Most of these images were painted over 3-D models that a team of CG artists built at our studio, but I often had to take these models and light them in Maya to get the initial render I wanted. Then I added textures and paint in photoshop, utilizing custom lighting passes as needed. The blur effect was a combination of creating both manual gaussian blurs and procedural depth maps in photoshop.
